Show Dont Tell reflects Christian Meesey's fixation on pictorial narrative in all its aspects with ink drawings on paper and video as the media. This series explores both montage and the juxtaposition of images through a cynical viewfinder. His drawings combine earnest and sarcastic imagery that evoke references such as Art Nouvou, animation, and Underground Comics(with respect to Scott McCloud's definition of Closure). Show Dont Tell is a personal mantra regarding a tendency in creativity toward lazyness- a personal reminder to 'Show' through imagery and sequence rather than Telling what could be lazily explained.

Bio
In addition to painting, Christian Meesey is a prolific graphic novel author, filling hundreds of pages to date. His latest works Motley I and II are distributed by hand throughout the world. Born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1976, he currently lives and works in Miami, Florida.
