Founded in 2000, Twinkle was founded by Wenlan Chia. The line has been described as, “Scandinavian whimsical chic meets sweet southern charm.” Playful, colorful and modern, the looks are soft and sensuous. Chiffon, silk and satin adorn the ultra feminine lines that have been featured in such publications as Vogue, In Style, Lucky and Women’s Wear Daily.

Miami designer, Alexandra Vidal followed Twinkle with a vintage inspired collection. A recent contestant on Bravo Network’s “Project Runway,” her designs incorporate intricate details with a modern and sleek edge. Flowing bias cut silk skirts and satin corsets coalesced in a classic meets contemporary juxtaposition of eras.

Designers Darrin McWhorter and Kristopher Hegland of Cardiac, closed the show with their avant-garde collection, aimed at “blurring the lines of baroque embroidery and punk rock.” Tattered and tailored, the line combines rough edges with refinement.

Accessory designers, Luis Morais and Guido and Mi were highlighted throughout the show. Luis Morais, who is known for “his intelligent, wistful jewelry designs that offer a distinctly modern touch,” provided perfect accents for the varied designs showcased.

Guido and Mi, a husband and wife duo “have been exploring metalwork and focus on using heat fusion to capture precious stone beads and gems in silver and gold, along with experimental work in the ancient Japanese technique of mokume gane.” Light and airy, their delicate pieces offered the fitting finishing touch to an evening full of fresh designs and talent.
